About Blenheim Palace

Home to the Dukes of Marlborough since 1705, Blenheim Palace was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987. Set in over 2,000 acres of ‘Capability’ Brown landscaped park and gardens, it was designed by Vanbrugh in the Baroque style and is also the birthplace of one of Britain’s most famous leaders, Sir Winston Churchill.

With over 300 years of history to share and one of the most important and extensive collections in Europe, the magnificent stately home has a rich variety of cultural highlights and an extensive programme of special events and exhibitions. Take an audio tour of the State Rooms and admire the portraits, tapestries and exquisite furniture while learning about the Palace’s 300-year history.

In 2025 we embark on our biggest restoration project to date, the Roof Restoration project. This monumental £12 million undertaking aims to preserve the roof’s historic architecture and safeguard its heritage for future generations.

Stroll through the grounds to admire some of the finest views in England, looking out for the historical monuments such as the Column of Victory, Grand Bridge and Temple of Diana. Discover an array of Formal Gardens including the Rose Garden, Water Terraces and Secret Garden. Delight in the Walled Garden, reached by miniature train, where you’ll find our Adventure Play, Marlborough Maze and Butterfly House.

In 2025, Blenheim Palace invites visitors to witness history in the making. A vital £12 million roof restoration is underway to safeguard this UNESCO World Heritage Site for future generations to come. During the works, guests can enjoy exclusive, limited-time access to the all-new Rooftop View platform offering breathtaking panoramic views across the Oxfordshire countryside.

Visitors can also explore the permanent Life Below Stairs exhibition, revealing the Palace’s historic kitchens and servant spaces for the first time. These experiences offer a unique opportunity to see Britain’s Greatest Palace from new perspectives while supporting its most ambitious conservation project to date.
